EHDS in Belgium: Understanding the Role of the Health Data Agency
The implementation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) is entering a new phase in Belgium. After several years of preparation at both European and national level, key guidance, tools, and implementation resources are becoming available, while the regulatory framework continues to evolve. In Belgium, the Belgian Health Data Agency (HDA) will play a central role in facilitating and supporting the reuse of health data within this emerging ecosystem.
This webinar serves as an introduction or refresher to the EHDS and the HDA. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the key actors, processes, responsibilities, and challenges involved, as well as the implications for research organisations and researchers.
Rather than addressing specialised or case-specific topics during this introductory session, the webinar is intended to establish a shared foundation for further discussion within the community. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions afterwards, which will be collected and discussed during a dedicated follow-up event with the HDA in 2027. This will allow for a deeper exploration of practical cases, policy interpretation, and challenges arising from practice.
Why attend:
- Understand the role of the Belgian Health Data Agency (HDA) and what it means for both health data holders and health data users.
- Learn how health data can be discovered, described, and requested through emerging HDA services such as the Data Catalog.
- Help shape a future Q&A session by submitting your own questions and use cases for discussion with the HDA.
Registration coming by Friday 16 Oct.
